Pluto is the farthest planet from the sun and by far the smallest. Pluto is smaller even than seven of the solar systems moons. It was dicovered in 1930 by accident. Pluto also has a moon CHARON. Pluto is the only planet that has not been visited by a spacecraft. Even the Hubble space telescope can only pick up the largest features on its surface. There is a planned mission called NEW HORIZONS that may launch in 2006 if it gets funding.
